Open the Book
Open the Book (OtB) is an exciting storytelling project where Bible stories are shared with children in a way that is fun, interactive and memorable. We have OtB teams in each of our three schools who bring alive Bible stories each week. The sessions are hugely popular with the children and valuable opportunity within our Benefice.
Advent Activity Tea
Everyone enjoyed a fun and busy afternoon at the Advent Activity Tea making reindeer crispy cakes, a pocket-sized nativity, streamers for St Peter's Church and stained-glass windows. Not to mention the quiz and delicious tea! Grown-ups could enjoy a mince pies and a glass of mulled wine too. A huge thanks to those who came on the day to help and also to those who contributed to the tea and helped to make it a success.
Holiday Club
A fabulous morning was had by all at the Night time Nature Holiday Club morning. Children had lots of fun making flappy owls, batty cakes and hedgehog homes in the churchyard. We learnt new things about nocturnal animals, including some of their sounds, and discovered that they are hidden treasurers in the night. We shared the parable of the hidden treasure linking it to God's love there for us to find. This line was part of a verse written by Dee who came and led us in song at the end. A huge thank you to everyone who helped to make this happen and of course the children and their families who came! Zoe
Forest Church
We had a super afternoon! There were approximately 20 adults and 10 children. Our theme was Signs of Spring....we did a nature trail, made rain gauges and planted seeds. We sang and prayed together. We toasted marshmallows on the fireplace and drank hot chocolate! All in all, a really lovely afternoon. Thank you to all those who came. Revd Tessa Mann
